I love my MT ET street radials. Put them on at home and safely drive to the track. I like to sit at the track and watch others change their tires.

^^^ Same here, I can't beleive anyone still messes around with changing the rears at the track, unless you're making really big hp, but then it's probably a track only car anyway. I drive up to an hour away on my MT's when I race in MD with no worries.

I've had Nitto DR's on my car for several years. As long as the tread is good they handle as good in the rain as an all season. Key words being "if the tread is good." Reason DR's get a bad name for rain is because people use them for daily driving, they get bald and handle as bad as a slick.

Any tire that is bald will handle rain just like a slick. The difference is most people run dr's down to where they have no tread, but most people change street tires before they are bald.

Just switched from a MT ET Street to a Hoosier slick. No new times yet. I liked the ET, but my friends in stalled autos (Chevelle, GTO) have had great luck with the Hoosiers.

Yeah, Nitto's try to do everything which makes them mediocre at everything.

They are still better than all season street tires.

MT E/T Street DRs for the win here. Loved them, even though they didn't last for long. LOL

Are the ET streets (like MT's) closer to a true drag slick in terms of construction? You'd figure they'd offer the best traction if they are.
I am running the Mickey Thompson ET Street radials, not the ET streets (you think they could come up with a better way to distinguish between the two).

Mine are 295s mounted on 15x10s. They're the exact tire I'm using in the vid in my signature.

The ET streets are close to a true drag slick. Aside from a few very minor differences they have a tread pattern, consisting of 3 grooves...

Slicks are a definite disadvantage when a cop pulls you over. Don't ask me how I know

I run the 315 nitto 555r drag radials on a "toy". The car hasnt even been out since you got the last log of it idling cold, its been to work and back a few times, even been out on damp streets. the 555r's did great with the wet streets. Tolerable but a slight blip of the throttle and your sideways. Just have to drive with a smart mind.

However the nitto 555r is more street then drag. Our track prep sucks as well so that has alot to do with it. When i was stock with just a stall and lid i would blow them off after a good burnout.

2 Things have happened since then...First would be a fox body stang in the lane next to me. 255 et streets radials, car hung the tires for a bit, i only noticed this because my car sat there spinning! We both did the same burnout, mine probably longer then his. The second thing to happen was i got a chance to see the new nt05r's up close and personal. They look like a great tire, almost look meaner and the contact patches look beefier then an et streets.

I would try 275 nt05's next befor the Et streets if the car is drivin more then on the weekends. Im sure they still get better mileage then the et streets. If the car only gets drivin here and there and in nice weather i would deffinetly get the et streets. I think the nt05's have alot more to offer over the 555r's. The 555r's are a great street tire, but someone wanted tract performance out of them might see money better spent on a set of et street radials.
