SLP Lid tutorial?

SLP Lid tutorial? Does anyone know of a tutorial on how to install an ls1 slp lid onto an lt1? I've seen it done a few times and I've looked everywhere for one, but have had no luck. Any help is appreciated.

You have to delete the AC condensor, tilt the radiator back, and either fab up a new upper radiator cover or use an LS1 style one from a 98-02 car. Then you have to notch out the radiator upper bracket. Then you just buy any LS1 lid and put it on (with a filter of course).
Unless you have a cowl/aftermarket hood, most people have had to trim/clearance their hoods as well. If you check out the search this has been covered in detail before with pictures. Hope this helps.

I would think the gains, although slight would show on the dyno. The 90 degree turns with the LT1 intake negatively affect the air flow IMO. I determined this whan I was flowtesting throttle bodies and the MAF with my datalogger years ago. Long story short, the 52mm flowed more than the 48mm, duh. The MAF proved to be no restriction but the rubber elbow showed the most restriction.
The LS1 lid/intake is a short straight shot down the engines pie hole which is a good thing.

Bufmat's right - fernco coupler. Available any hardware store and dirt cheap. That piece will NEVER slip, leak, or tear in your lifetime. You couldn't stab a screwdriver through it if you tried. Only note is that its not very long - depending on your application you might need an extender tube from lid to MAF.
If you are using/keeping your stock hood then don't even bother doing a lid swap. You'll end up butchering your car. Is can even be a pain in the a** with aftermarket hoods.
When you pair the LID with an under the car ram air induction system I think its the best setup around but as most people have already attested, for the average modded LT1 application its probably not a big helper. I switched from a rad mounted LT1-style ram air box to a lid; it's one of those mods that I think is better. In contrast, when I switched from street tires to drag radials, I efen KNEW that was a way better change than before! That should help steer you in the right direction.

I dont think the one I asked about first is a Fernco. Reason I say that is I just went to HD, Lowes and Rp Lumber this morning and none of them had one like that with the middle that buldges out. RP Lumber sent me to a place that is a Fernco Distrubuter and we looked in their catalog and could not find it either. Maybe the guy that posted the picture will see this and let us know. I am going to try menards this afternoon.

On my 93, I went the easy way. Bought a used upper radiator support, lid and filter for an ls1 car. Two fernco couplers, and a VFN wide Sunoco hood. The hood needs to be custom made. If you call, tell them about Butch (Bolo) and Chris (duh). Both of ours are done the same. Everything else bolts right up with a little bit of trimming to the radiator support. Took about 20 minutes and you don't cut the core support up.
