Scorpion race series for 3+ years now. My friend is using the same ones on his 383 build:

I have been running Jegs Aluminum roller rockers on the last few engines. I believe they are made by lunati

They went four seasons in my car shiting at 7,000-7,200 no problems.

I was replacing my pro mags every year due to wiped out trunions

I'm running Scorpion race series as well. They'll be going on my new motor as well.

Scorpions... Used on the last dozen or so LT1 buildups I have done... Zero problems on any... These are all using the full-bodied Scorpion rockers...

The biggest issue with the Scorpions is the valve cover clearence in regards to strengthening ribs internally. On most of the aftermarket aluminum covers you need to grind down the ribs to help them clear the rockers. It is the same issue with stock LT1 covers, as the internal ribs get in the way. LT1/LT4 Corvette composite valve covers do not have this problem as they have no internal ribs, but some of the LT1 composite covers have internal drip rails that to be ground down to clear.

Narrow-body rockers will clear just about any valve covers.

Two fast would be nice if you listed spring pressures rpm and how long till they broke.

Also, which model Scorpion rocker you used. I only use the full-bodied endurance ones...

Actually, that looks like a LS-series rocker. They had a known set of failures for a while with some bad batches of those.

We are talking LT1/SSBC rockers, not LS-series.

Are the endurance series larger than the race series? Mine cleared stock style valve covers with just the removal of the inside bracing/webbing. I have had good luck with Scorpions and will continue using them. Conveniently they are local to me

Yeah, the Endurance have a bit more "meat" to them, with the Race series taking weight off... Honestly, unless you are talking a 9/10s motor, either will do fine. Both should fit fine under even stock covers with the ribs removed. I have used them in that app as well...

The newer Comp Cams Gold rockers are just rebadged Scorpion Race series.

Again, I don't think there is any issue with the SBC rockers. Just the LS-series, and even those were a while back. Since then they have fixed the issue.

Less the 100 miles and regular spring pressures. Just a few monthes ago for this one BUT it was not the first and yes this was a LSx but we have lost SBC rockers also. I just happen to have pics of this one.

Just our experiance with them. Pressures were only 150 seat to 450 over the nose.

I said Screw it and put T&Ds on my new motor

BTW PTV was fine and not and issue on any of the engines we lost rockers on

This is what happened to my old CM promag. And yes I had to tear the entire motor down to get out all the needle bearings.

I've had a Comp stainless rocker fail once too.
