Car wont start

Car wont start 97 TA w-s6. Just bought the car about two months ago, it only has 61000 miles on it. I started to notice that the car was getting hard to start, so i would unpluge the battery and let it sit. With the battery hooked back up the car would start but it started to do the same **** again. I put a brand new optima in the car, i have power but it wont even start at all now. Im thinking its the starter, cuz thats not even making any kind of noise. Anyone have ideas? Thanks for your time.

Car wont start Yes but then it turns off. When i turn the key i can hear a clicking sound. The car has an aftermarket alarm but i dont have the remote for it, its been disconected. The other thing, i hear coming from under the dash by the fuse box, sounds like the hazards are on, but they aren't on.
Yes the car would start if the alternator was bad. You could pull the starter and take it into autozone and have them test it, but if it were me I would want to remove that alarm to make sure that doesn't interfere with it starting since you don't have the remote for it.
