If all you're interested in is sound, then get just the muffler.
If you're interested in sound AND performance, don't waste your money on just the muffler and get an entire cat-back kit.
Problem with coming onto a forum and asking "Which muffler sounds best" is that you're going to get nothing but differing opinions - all of which will probably differ from yours when all is said and done. The best thing to do is to go on YouTube and look up "LT1 exhaust," listen for yourself, then make your own decision.

You always hear about gains on just by putting a muffler on, well we were surprised like hell. We had a customer that had a spin tech muffler, heads, cam ect. we dynoed the car then on the dyno swapped out to a magnaflow. the car gained like 21 RWHP! We were all shocked..and yes we had dynoed this car before when the cam, heads were installed, and we did 3 pulls to get a base line which was all within 2 hp..
I had a expensive *** B&B cat back. I gained 17rwhp just by putting a cut out on. Some performance mufflers are just sound machines IMO. My car did how ever lay down some decent numbers on the dyno when it was stock with just the CB.
