short block needed
short block needed who sells lt1's that isn't incredibly expensive. i need a short block and getting one locally isn't an option and i need to get this car running again before i leave for Afghanistan on the 15th. i don't want to hear any bickering on budget bullshit so please save it. im not looking to run tens.
Need HP goals and what are your plans for the car. 350,355,383,396?? What are you trying to do?
1.Just get a stock low-mileage shortblock?
2.Or build one up with forged pistons ect?
3.Or buy a newly rebuilt shortblock?
Craigslist or junkyard for option 1 and 2. If you want a newly re-built short-block, just keep checking the classifieds....I picked up a all forged 383 a hell of a lot cheaper than it cost to build. Or just order a Golen 383...under 3K: http://www.golenengineservice.com/en...p-short-block/

Isnt there a ls1 in the classifieds going for like 1000$? I thought I saw it in there unless I'm losing my mind, or would that involve more then just dropping it in.

No, you can't just drop a LS1 in....lots of other parts and wiring harnesses ect. have to be changed, it adds up quickly. It can be done, but will take more time and $$$. I doubt it can be done for less than $4K...which could get you a stroked LT1. LT1's do sound better too.
