Fix or replace SLP's 2 on the left muffler?

As far as I can tell SLP no longer makes the "2 on the left" muffler and mine is in pretty bad shape.

Is it possible to repair it or should I just replace it and with what? What would fit those twin 2 1/2" tailpipes?

Magnaflow makes some killer dual in/dual out muffler cases, but they are pretty loud. Basically it's two of their straight through race bullets sharing a single outer case for smaller a footprint. I would measure the distance center to center from each pipe then match something up on their website.

The 2OTL is an awesome factory exhaust, and actually flows very well. Both tips are on the left so they could use better flowing mufflers and still pass the drive by decibel test - which places the mic on the right side of the car. Pretty slick IMO.

Sell it to me

I had that same setup. Sounded great! I think Magnaflow makes a SI/DO muffler, that you could replace it with.

I know. That's why I'm contemplating having it fixed. I'm sure someone can weld a piece of stainless over the rusted area.

I'd fix it if possible....the 2OTL is the best ;) It's a shame they stopped making them.

is this the same muffler? http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/SLP-T...ht_2434wt_1096

it's only $65

I almost want to buy that and try to get a custom 2otl

I don't think so but I emailed them just to be sure. Thanx for the link.

Edit: no that's not it. The 3" inlet on my muffler is in the middle. This one is on the side. :(

I don't think you would want it. It's in pretty bad shape.

I just sold my slp 2OTL, and am regretting it. . . .

The cone of silence mod! Just kidding, LT1 old schoolers will know what that is. SLP sold replacement mufflers for a while, that truck muffler may be it. Call and see. I'd fix it, very unique exhaust.

Maybe I'll call my machine shop and see if they'll weld it all back up with stainless.

Updated pics on how in bad shape the muffler is.

I would say a supposed stainless steel muffler wasn't really a stainless steel muffler.

BizZzatch350 Oct 12, 2011 10:19 AM

Have a muffler shop build you some thing custom, I think it would be cool to do twin stainless works chambered mufflers, like have the intermediate pipe come over the axle and split in to, feeding two chambered mufflers, then have each muffler exit to the left in the same fashion as the SLP two on the left. Would be like a GMMG/SLP Two on the left mutt
