Exclamation Help! Cannot find parts in the UK

HI!

I am rebuilding my 1995 Trans Am LT1 (VIN 2G2FV22P9S2230496) and have come up against a few problems with parts that are not readily available in the UK.

At the moment I am desperately seeking 2 front sway bar clamps (GM 10259206) and the 4 bolts (GM 1638817) that go with them.

I am told the bolts are discontinued and I may have to resort to replacement, non-GM parts. However, I note that several outlets in the US list the clamps in their inventory. Unfortunately, non of them seem able to ship them to international addresses!

I am therefore seeking a friendly soul in the US who would be prepared to locate and ship them over the water to my address. Obviously payment for the items, shipping and time expended could be made by PayPal or similar as required.

Anybody in a position to assist?

Many thanks in anticipation...

Toni

If I remember I have a parts manual with most of the bolt dimensions. I'll look them up and you should be able to find them at a hardware store?

I suggest buying a set of the Energy Suspension polyurethane bushings, as they come with the attaching brackets.

I live about an hour away west of GY, Lakenheath area. What US outlets are you talking about? Do they ship to APO?

Default Many Thanks!

Hi Guys,

Thanks for the amazing responses!

Thanks to you SS RRR, I will check GM Parts Direct and I have a supplier for the bolts if I have the dimensions.

Thanks to you bene, I will check out the APO delivery (I find it strange that some US firms will not deliver to APO. I served in BAOR and the UK Postal Service, AKA "Royal Mail" has always delivered to BFPO addresses as though they were domestic). Also nice to contact you as I have shown my Trans Am at the Lakenheath Base Car show and (hopefully) will be there again next April!

Thanks Leadfoot 4, I have in fact replaced the bushings and swaybar with a BMR set, as well as the K-member, panhard rod and rear swaybar (found it odd that the rear swaybar came with the clamps, but not the front).

Many thanks again!

I've been here for two years and both times I missed the American car show on base. WTF? lol. Next year, IF I don't deploy I'll dyno my car during the car show on base.

I need the "U"-shaped clamps/brackets that hold the bushing for the front sway-bar to the chassis mounts. and the bolts/washers!

Cheers!
