reguardless of where the OP lives a ceramic coating will help and work better then paint. Not only for rust protection and aesthetics but for heat protection. The idea is to keep the heat in and move it out.

My point was someone saying paint works lives in AZ, the OP lived on OH. In AZ "rust" is a foreign word, in OH it is a fact of life.

If u really want paint over ceramic i would check out the POR20 they make a great product.
