o2 Simulator's or Extensions

I'm headed home for some much needed leave, to wrap up some issues with the camaro. I started a longtube header install, and didn't finish it while I was home a few months ago. We got the stock manifolds off before we called it quits, and it's been sitting for a while. I'm running ebay longtubes, and also replacing the plugs/wires while I'm under there. I'm just making sure I have all my bases covered before this veterans day holiday.

1) Where should I get an extension for the front o's?
2) I have to run front o2's correct?
3) Will the steering knuckle have to be moved/ how do you disconnect the steering knuckle?
4) What problems should I run into if any?

Felpro 1406's and new header bolts already waiting for me back in SC.

Glad you'll be back !
1. Got mine from ws6store.com but summit and jegs have them too.
2. Yes
3. Depends on the headers. I didn't.

Part O2EXT12 at ws6store?

I think I got the 18's and it ended up being too long... good luck with the headers, I would rather drop the k member next time and do it that way... honestly is easier.

I'm running a pa k member with solid motor mounts so I'd rather not go through that again.
Anyone have a def. part number for the extensions? I'm pretty sure it has to be a two prong correct?

depends on what style your car has... just look, or have someone check it out?

but for mine I had the flat connectors, yours could be square.

I have a 95 Camaro. Aren't they all the same style?

I've heard of some being mixed, chances are yours are the flat style if you have obdI.

My bet would be they are the flat style as well. The rear ones aren't though so make sure you check the front.
I can't bring up the part # I got now but if anything ws6store customer service, even via email is excellent if you just want to tell them what year car you need them for. Also 1 of the 2 18" extensions is super long as someone said. I don't mind having a zip tie under my car :)

I planned on just using zip ties for the excess as well. Doesn't bother me at all.

Also I plan on just deleting the rear o2. Should that be a problem even after I get the car tuned? I don't have a cat anyways.

are you OBDI or OBDII... kind of makes a difference, as well as with OBDI you will not have rear o2's.

OBDI
Again aren't all 95's OBDI with OBDII connectors?

lt1slowz28 Nov 5, 2011 05:44 PM

in the car yes... OBDII connection inside, but... everything else(i.e. 02's and crank sensor, rather lack thereof) is OBDI .

gregrob Nov 5, 2011 05:45 PM

Yes all 95s are OBD I with an OBD II DLC.

All the LT1 equipped cars I have seen use the same flat 4 pin 02 connector rso no it doesn't matter what year you are, other than 96-97 will have rear 02s which can be tuned out, and you need a tune with headers.

I tried to scan my car a few years ago, and learned that they were OBDI with OBDII connectors. pain in the ass for someone that doesn't know.

I also just ordered the o2 extensions so thanks for your help

I'm going to get her tuned anyways before I spray again, but I'll do a bolt-on tune while I'm at it. Might be a little while, but I'll post the results. Thanks for the insight
