Long Story Short...
I owe nothing on the car so it's just a matter of getting what I can for it and finding another car.
Y'all are the best; hopefully I can swing another nice lt1!
Id LOVE to be in this guys position. Im tired of my car, its not worth book, So hell if someone totals it for me id probably just have to shake their hand, take my check, and be on my merry way.
Infact id even take it to some outrageously overpriced high end repair shop to get the estimate done just to ensure the thing totals.
This happened to me and I was able to get my 96 LT1/4 M6 completely fixed and repainted - it did however take 4.5 months of activity on my part (and the ultimate intervention of a representative of the NCDOI) to make "Regressive" do the right thing.
A suggestion: 10 years ago when I was dealing with a resoration shop in Detroit ("Motor City Classics") they told me they knew exactly how to get my insurance company to fix ALL of the issues on my 61 Ventura; they wrote up an inital estimate, go the OK to start working on it, rec'd a check, cashed it, then "discovered" additional damage during the repair process. Once the insurance company had OK'd the repair work, they had to pay for the "newly discovered" damage too.
Good Luck!
