Summit Roller Rocker Difference
Summit Roller Rocker Difference Alight Ive decided to do a very budget cam swap in my current motor this Winter because my 355 is going to take longer than I thought to gather parts for and build. I originally was thinking of going with the AI cam package but I think Im going to just piece it together with cheaper parts. Im hoping just to run these parts for a year or two until I can get my other motor built.
Im looking into budget roller rockers. Id rather not buy used parts so Im looking at cheaper new ones. Summit has two different house brand Roller Rockers that are about a $30 difference. Can anyone tell me what makes the blue ones worth the extra cash?

Also has anyone heard of the Angus Brand Roller Rockers that Skip White sells? They are made in the USA for around $150 shipped. I saw he has the Wysco ones on there for 113 but Im scared of chinese engine parts.
I will be running a pretty mild cam with the stock heads. Im leaning toward the Lunati 60121 or cc503. Probably whichever I can find cheaper.

Ok. Dumb question. Why throw money away on an engine that you don't intend to keep? Logical thing would be spend the ~$800 on the 355 and get it closer to being done. For that matter just finish the bottom end with the $800 and drive it with stock heads. For a bit. ? Maybe im just not reading this right.

Well the waterpump is starting to leak and I need to change the opti. Its also leaking oil from the rear of the intake and the timing cover. By the time I tear it down that far I might as well slide a cam in it.
My 355 build is going to be well over $5000 dollars. I was hoping to have it done within a year but thats just not going to happen. Im looking at two years. Theres really no point in building it and putting wasted miles on it with the stock heads. I want to hit maybe 340rwhp with this engine and see if I can hit low twelves with it. And when I finally get the new motor together I can give this one to my brother to play with.

As for the cam, id go with the cc503 over the lunati 60121. Have you considered the 60122?? I was considering that cam and its more similar to the cc503 than the 60121. The 60121 is more similar to the hot cam and might leave you wanting more in the lope department.

and
SUM-G6920B Slot Width-0.634 in.
The only difference I saw was the slot width. What exactly is the slot width?

I'm assuming you're using 3/8 studs by the part numbers you showed. Anyways my family have had two sets of summit roller rockers run on probably 4 or 5 different cars and not one problem. I would not hesitate to buy them again. These guys will tell you not to buy certain parts because they are "cheap" but that's not always the case. They are well made and lasted us a long time. The only reason we ever got rid of them is that we ran out of cars to put them on, lol.

Thanks for the replies guys. From what I understand the blue summits are supposed to be scorpions. Im not sure on the natural colored ones though which is why I asked. I just want to make sure the silver ones arent some chinese brand.
And I believe the Lunati 60122 will be too big for what Im doing. I dont think it would work well with my stock 342 gear and stock heads/bottom end. I like the 60121 because its like a more aggresive hotcam. I loved the hotcam in my last car.

Cnc motorsports sells SA and NSA rockers for 130. Very similar to the summit and scorpion rockers. The reason I said cheap is aluminum is known to crack and have other issues.
I understand that. This is just going to be a very mild cammed street car that will see the track a good bit next year. If I were buying these for the new motor then I would either be buying ultra pro mags or shaft mounts.
do you have any video clips by any chance? Not doubting you, but the few ive heard werent anywhere close to cc503 or others ive seen. But then again i didnt hear them in person.
