Default 1995 LT1 with newer 4L60e

What is needed to make a newer 4L60e work in a 1995 LT1 car? Or even an older 4L60e? Basically I cannot find a 1995 trans local but want to retain function of my speedo and ecm functions. I will be getting a PCMForLess tune. Thanks

Iam certain a 95 96 4l60e will work in your 95 . as far as speedo and ecm pcmforless can take care of that when you get the tune done

You can use a 95-97 with the integral bellhousing. If you get the two piece then you should be able to use one from a 96-00 5.7 Vortec truck but would need to change the tail housing for the trq arm bolts if you have a stock arm. Electronics are the same 95+. If you got a 94 then they don't have pulse width modulated torque converter lock up.

The tailshafts on the two piece bellhousing transmissions will not switch out with our tailshafts (they are six bolt ours is four). Im not sure but an LS1 style 4l60e tailshaft may switch out, but they are hard to find. I ran into this problem when I bought a used trans and had to bring it back and swap it out for a integral bellhousing transmission. Mine came out of a 1500 GMC truck. The tailshafts did swap but I had to cut off the "ears" on the truck bellhousing to get it to fit under my car.
