OP, did you have a girdle installed when this happened? Do you use slicks or DR's at the dragstrip? Just curious because my new 383 will be making similar HP through a 6spd and 10 bolt....it does have a brand new Eaton posi and girdle however; I'm wondering if I should even consider DR's (slicks are out of the question now) with this POS rear end and just stick with shitty 315mm sumitomo street tires.

Ouch...looks like I will have a 12 second H/C/I/383 combo then until I can afford a 9" I'm just going to baby the hell out of it and granny shift it; no clutch drops over 2K RPM or decent tires in the near future

I'm still curious if the OP had the girdle or not...who's grenaded a 10 bolt WITH a girdle on it? I know it's a bandaid on a bullet wound but, it can't hurt.

I thought you were going to drop in that sweet airfoil and the electric supercharger for the 9.7x times?

I think your 383 and the 6 speed will put some hurt on that 10 bolt if you get some good bite. I'd plan a rear swap in the not-too-distant future man. The girdle may buy you some time, but with the 10 bolt I wouldn't count on it.

My car used to be an automatic. A4's are boring as **** to drive, I almost sold my car because of it.

go 4.10's man, I broke a full tooth off of my pinion (richmond 3.73's), and two teeth off of a spider gear, on street tires on the street, and drove 25 miles home on it. Now I have 4.10's and I love them, and I actually hook up better now, except for 1st gear.
