Default Anyone have this happen?

I took my car out tonight, It doesnt get drivin much. I let it warm up, well...how ever warm a 160 tstat and rad fans programmed to turn on sooner gets in 30º weather. Anyways after driving it for awhile i pulled over and unplugged the cooling fan fuse. I read about condensation in engines that dont get hot enough in cold weather so i figured i would pull the fuse and let it heat up more. As far as i could tell the gauge was never over 210, and with the fuse in the gauge never really goes over 155º halfway mark. Perhaps my cooling sensor is messed up?

Anyways I was bored and i love the power the car has. I did about a 5 second brake stand and then rode it out 30-40ft. Revs were under 6k the whole time. After that i come to a stop sign and go to give it throttle and she doesnt feel like moving. Seemed like you had to give it more throttle to move then befor. I get it home and put it in park and the idle drops to 500 or so (normally around 800-1000). Then it just died. So i pop the hood and i can smell something that ive never smelled befor, no clue what it was, normally all i smell is fuel and exhaust, this was different. Didnt smell like coolant, didnt smell like burned clutch. I put the fan fuse back in (the gauge slightly above the 210 mark at the time) and go to start it and it wont stay running. I poke around the engine bay and make sure plug wires are tight and none are burned. Go to start it and it idles fine and no issues. I didnt drive it again but i moved it and everything seemed fine again.

The only thing i can think is trans fluid got very hot? Would this affect how the stall converter feels? I went back to the site of the burnout in my DD and saw 2 nice black marks (just to make sure tires were spinning and trans wasnt just slipping).

Ill have to drive it some more another day but im just wondering if anyone has any ideas? Can a torque converter feels a certain way with cold trans fluid vs hot? Figure since normally the temps are lower ive gotten used to it? Does pulling the fuse have anything to do with it?

Or else the tci 3500 is finally proving that its a TCI stall converter. Still doesnt make sense with the engine acting like it did though.

with that stall converter it could have possibly put the ECM in limp mode when you did the burnout.......that will def do it......i had that issue back in the day with mine.

I vote for limp mode. If i did a burnout in my car before it was tuned and sometimes even after, it would go into limp mode and run funny. Never died though. Turn the car off and back on and it was fine.

any clue why?

And by that stall do you mean the TCI 3500? or just that high of a stall. The car has a pcmforless tune but it isnt perfect. wideband should hopefully be a xmas presant!
