Default Spark Plug Question...

I recently had a problem with a piggy back chip that was installed on this car that would cause the fuel pump to prime on and off every 2 seconds whether it was running or not until I slapped the ecm to make it stop. I purchased a new chip and it corrected the problem, however now my car is smoking, white smoke that smells fuel like...I dont seem to have any bad head gasket conditions. I pulled my plugs today to find this...

Could these be fouled and causing the smoke?

Thanks, I assume they look like that because of what the chip was doing to my ecm. Was more curious if plugs in that condition could be causing the car to have a whitish, fuel smelling smoke from the exhaust. But yes new plugs are coming soon.

Those E3 plugs show gains & increase in fuel milage Thats been on 3 different shows ive watched from Horsepower TV & Gearz to 2 guys garage I stated I havent tried em so I dunno if theyd act stupid like a +2 or +4 plug Autolites run good in FORDS lol The plugs in the picture look to have a lil oil on em too So run a compression test too Maybe even a leak down test NGK Bosch or AC Delco plugs are what ive found to run the best in a GM product & from what ive seen on those shows the E3 might just have somethin goin for it

Have you also noticed that all three of those shows are sponsored by E3... I tried them out in my dad's harley and they sucked. It ran ok for about 2 miles then the plugs crapped out. We changed them out to the old plugs we had and it ran a lot better.

I will file that away lol You need to do a compression test & leak down test If its over 100k on the speedo then its time for a rebuild

white smoke is caused by water/coolant, grayish/blue smoke is burning oil, and black smoke is rich unburned fuel. get a blok-chek tool and check coolant for combustion gases and or compression and leak down tests.

Is the number by the threads on the plug the heat range number? These say "594" should I stick with that or is there a common range you guys run? The other number is rc14yc

For NA motors on the street run a NGK TR55, I ran plain copper in my LT and do in my LS with no issues. Gap them at .05 and you are good to go. They have the stock heat range. You dont need to change it, go with whats proven to work

You should check your oil and see if it smells like gas, you may want to change it.
