Because it's so slow and that's cause the amount of people. And like gregrob said its hard to navigate it crashes ALL THE TIME. In my opinion it's a site that is poorly put together. I'm not hating on the site or anything I'm just stating the obvious.

This is almost starting to read like a lower scaled LS1.com debacle.

Maybe I've been MIA from there for awhile, but I think it's a bit far fetched to say it crashes ALL the time. I've never had it crash on me...not once. The site has gone down due to hosting/domain problems a couple of times...but it always comes back. I don't believe the site is poorly put together at all, it just doesn't have the Wal-Mart-like money and support that this site does.

I believe too many members = shitty information. I'd much rather see intelligent conversation from a few than stupid *** banter coming from 2,000 people at once.

gone

I know Sean fell on some hard times a while back so that may explain part of it. Still they should pass the torch to someone who can keep the lights on if it's that bad.

I have already contacted Sean early this week. He is working on it. It is registered to him, but some stuff was changed when he had some personal issues. 2 of the other major contributors to the upkeep of the site are having family related issues as well. I am meeting up with Sean next Sunday to give him some parts and I will discuss with him some stuff about the site. No need to post the whois info here. If anyone cared to know I am sure they could look it up themselves.

Guys, its a billing issue as far as I know. I don't have the server access or billing access anymore, that's on Russ and Randall, and Russ told me that Randall is supposed to be getting me the info so I can take care of things. Unfortunately, things are out of my hands until I get the server and billing info again.

Ok, now that I'm on a computer and not a phone, let me chime in with some stuff.

First, we've NEVER had a problem paying the bills. NEVER. Every time something billing related has happened, it's been related to the web host and it's billing practices. If we had so much trouble paying the bills, how did we come up with $1500 to title sponsor the LTx Shootout the past three years? If the bill didn't get paid, this would be a first, and like I mentioned before, I am doing my damndest to rectify the issue, but not having server or financial access to the site still, makes things rather difficult. So why not keep your trap shut when you obviously don't know what you're talking about.

Yes, we've had some crashes, no one will deny that. On the initial setup, it was a server issue where the SQL database was limited, so we had to change web hosts. Then we had a big crash when we did a major site upgrade. The last year there was a point when we got hacked REALLY badly (I was gone for this). I apologize if the fact that we're not owned by IB and don't have every security measure they do inconveniences you, but we do what we can. We're not a corporate site, we're not professionals, we're enthusiasts who are doing what we can. If that's summed up as neglect and poor management, then so be it, but I think most people will realize that life takes priority over a web site. Like I said, I'm back and trying to get things done.

Yes, we ARE a small site. But we LIKE it like that. Because there's none of the BS. We're a dedicated group of enthusiasts who prefers to make friends, and focus on the hobby rather than sit around talking a bunch of smack and just stirring the pot for no reason.

As I said before, I'm doing what I can to fix the site, but my hands are tied. Russ and Randall are pretty much MIA, and getting the info out of them has become difficult. But I'm trying. And once the site is back up, I personally am going to be making some changes to fix things and get things back on track there. You people who know me know I'm good for my word.

OK, I called the host and sweet talked them into talking to me. Bill was overdue, and I paid it out of pocket just now (which I really can't afford, some of you know my situation), so the site should be back up in about 15 minutes. Expect to see some changes immediately in who does what over there.

That is good news. Some of us really do like the site a bunch and only want it to do well.

Great job Sean!
You hit it right on the head...we're not a big site, and we like it that way.

Not that I honestly need to explain anything, but the truth is my wife passed away after a nearly two year long fight with cancer and I haven't been giving the small things enough attention. I know there are some issues with posting that I need to address and will take care of. What I don't appreciate are comments about how we can't manage this or pay for that. We haven't had any donations come in nor do we have sponsors paying.g us hundreds of dollars a month to sustain the site. Its a small community and were doing the best we can given all of our circumstances. I appreciate the passion for the site immensely and I will take care of the issues you guys are upset about. The forum is staying dark themed though, so unfortunately that is not changing.

To the one simpleton who feels his sites are bigger and cheaper: all I can say is that were using vbulletin and all of our data goes into the database. Our server isn't set up for huge gBs of storage as we dont use hard disk space necessarily. We use database space and for large database space you need to pay for it. We have a higher price for our server because of that. I hope you can wrap your mind around that and realize that a simple HTML site would only be a couple bucks a year.

Sorry for your loss. The haters are going to hate and I wouldn't even waste any time trying to explain anything.
