Default Torque Arm Relocation

I know it's better to get the torque arm off the back of the t56. But the question is, is a tunnel mount relocation kit better than a relocation bracket that goes in place of the trans cross member?

Which location the TA mounts to is really determined on the use of the car....

A short arm TA is better at some things than a long arm, and vise versa.

Autocross, primarily. It's a fun car not a daily driver I'll run in Street Modified this year in SCCA. But I also like to drive it to cruses and screwing around and such. I just don't want to break the tail housing of the tranny. I am still on street tires, nt05's 275/40-17's, I put all energy suspension mounts, motor, tranny, torque arm. In a attempt to keep it from flexing too much, but I'm just thinking...I won't win, I'm not that good. But the car is real fast, I just am having a hard time getting it to turn. It want's to push so bad. I would much rather drive a loose car than one that's tight.

Your gonna want a long TA that mounts tot he trans crossmember. As for the car pushing into the turns a set of SFC's and a bigger front sway bar with poly bushings and links will help. A larger rear sway bar will help with body roll on acceleration. Look up Sam Strano on this site, he can steer you where you wnat to go, pun kind of intended!

I've talked to Sam, and I'm going to order his sway bars soon. His watts link is cool, and I'm sure it's the way to go but I don't want to spend that much right now. I have SFC, max out alignment spec's, panhard bar, LCA's, RK Sport springs, Bilstein shocks. Would you worry about getting a different torque arm, or just relocating it and using the stock one and save the money for other stuff? Or am I being to paranoid about breaking the tail shaft housing?

Have you set the front tires to have a little toe out...

Definitely do the swaybars first before tq arm if handling is your top priority...they let the shocks/springs do their job properly and you will be amazed at the difference. No more understeer!

Ok, thanks. Sam has hollow sway bars as a set that's what I think I'll get.
