Default rocker questions

ok Ive posted up on the rocker subject a couple times and ive been stuck on 1.6 ratio, I'm trying to make all that i can out of a build that was less then impressive to me ... I'm wondering if i could run 1.7 rr with the springs i currently have and stock length pushrods. would it be worth doing (i have to get new rockers anyway) and would i have to put different valve covers on to fit them if i did go this route?

I talked to my engine builder when i was wanting to go to 1.6 ratio and he said something about the pushrods may not work with the bigger ratio? he said they might be to short but i dont see how pushrod length affects what size rockers you run?

Are you building a motor or working over an old build? meaning is the motor currently in the car? what heads are you running? Are the heads milled? What is the thickness of the headgaskets? All can play into the pushrod length. It may be easier just to re cam it and run the 1.5's.

this engine is installed and running. the heads are the stock LT1 castings (no milling) and the head gaskets are a stock replacement. atm a cam swap (again) is out of the question and that would probably require new pushrods anyway. I need to be able to do the work in an afternoon.
