The car seems to be all fixed now. I put in a new Delphi opti over the weekend and decided to do the timing chain as well. The chain and gears were actually in excellent shape for 115K miles. I probably could have waited on that. I had some frustration with the water pump oil seal, but got some great info on this site and others and installed it AFTER I installed the cover and pre-stretched the seal lip, then used a 1/2-inch Craftsman socket to slide it onto the W/P driveshaft. I had to drop the oil pan about 1/2-inch to get the cover off, then gooped the seals up with ATF RTV on reassembly. If you guys haven't tried this RTV designed for use with components that will be exposed to ATF, you're really missing something. The stuff is amazing. It sticks anything!
