stumble/misfire under load?

stumble/misfire under load? 383 head/cam 6sp. just started after a plug swap so I checked gap (.045), wires and all good
motor stumbles/misfires under acceleration in gear under load. smooths out mostly after speed builds up. Shifting through the gears is not bad but when accelerateing from 35 say in 4th it stumbles and low on power.
after double checking plugs for cracks and gap and confirming all plugs wires are on correct I am llooking for suggestions beyond that to look at.
