can anyone provide me with a description or better yet a picture of where it is on a 97 t/a with long tube headers, y pipe, no cats?

Bank 1 is on the side of cylinder number 1 (drivers side)

Sensor 1 is before the cat

With longtubes the first O2 sensor, as already stated should be before the catalytic converter so a popular place to put them is into the collectors. Look there first or right where the Y-pipe joins the header on the drivers side.

here i was thinking it was somewhere on the drivers side in the engine bay

excuse my lack of knowledge, but what/where are collectors?
