Thats technically a jacking point or where you would place a 2 post lift.

If you really want to take care of your pinch weld and subframe always use wooden blocks between the jack and/or jack stand. The better place to put a jack stand in that picture is on the front subframe just behind that plastic peice. Use a jack and a scrap 2x4 or whatever, just something to soften the impact of the metal jack, and jack on the plastic square. Then put a jack stand under the frame. slowly lower it and watch it and if anything starts to bend stop and reposition the jack stand and/or add another chunk of wood. Be careful when using the wood with the jack stands. Some of them can be turned to fit better without wood. Ive learned most cars, once the jack stand is in place with 1000+lbs of car on it...isnt going anywhere, but always use caution and commen sense. people have died from cars falling on them!

thanks for the advice. I was just a little curious about it I mean one of my worst fears is being under the car and PAM car drops and end up like guakamole :p

Those clearly say on my car that they are not a lifting point.

I place jackstands on the front pivot of the a-arm. Very solid place to use jackstands.

It's not for the plastic pad. It's for the fender seam just in front of it, which is why you see a whole lot of f-bodys with bowed front fenders.
