Default trans ?'s

does anyone know if i can put a 96-97 4L60E on my '94? as far as i know only 94-95 will work. lets say it does, will the tail housing on a roadmaster or caprice work with the torque arm? or does it have to be a Z28 tail housing? i do have a tail housing from a 94 v6 auto trans but i am unsure if it will fit on a v8 trans. any input? thanks

It can be done but you need to add a wire from the pcm to the trans plug and reflash your computer to a 95. The 94 is a year of its own because the torque converter lock up did not use the pulse width modulated solenoid. The tailstock will be the same v6 v8
