LT1 Swap.....Header Queation.
I have a 93 LT1 in my 1987 Chevy 4x4 pick up, will long tube headers for a Trans Am or Camaro work? Or will I have to go with shorties? I would really like to have long tubes.

Going to be tough for us over the internet to make a call like that without seeing your engine bay. The tricky part is getting them to clear your k-member - hopefully someone else here has done the swap.
Although I would think in an 80s pickup truck that there would be tons of room for them to fit.

Get whatever headers are made for a 350 '87 Chevy pickup. The outward dimensions of an LT1 are identical to an sbc. If you have the LT1 headers laying there then you'll just have to try to see if they'll fit.

No I dont have any headers laying around. It has Shortys headers on it now but I have no clue what the are from and they split down at the collector and it has that ticking exhaust leak sound that is so annoying. I was thinking about just regular long tube headers for a T/A but I don't think they will clear my front driveshaft because I know 2 wheel drive truck headers wont work on a 4 wheel drive.
Joelster - will regular 350 headers work on a LT? I did not know that!
