Default PCV valve?

if a pcv valve is getting kinda sticky would it cause the engine to burn oil? took my car to a shop and they guy said that the pcv valve was sticking so he cleaned it a little and stuck it back in there and said it would run till i got a new one. i plan to get a new one but is this my oil consumption issue?

PCV valves are like 2-3$ a pop. I know they can burn oil but if its a big consumption it could be something elts. My old saturn i had was smoking from oil burning and after i slapped a new PCV valve on it a few days later it cleared right up(note the oil burning was only noticeable idling or in park). With them being so cheap it doesn't hurt to get a new one

only burns oil when im out and about running ***** to the walls and it will burn a good quart rather quickly. most notedly the first time it did it in under 350 miles. but its sporatic at best i can drive it for a week and a half before it shows up again on the dipstick. ive just kept adding oil when it gets low (which isnt very often). i havent had time to go to the parts store for a pcv valve yet.

started about 500 miles ago. No leaks. No oil in water or vice versa. the engine has just under 10k on it.

Yes it does smoke a little on start up and it only seems to actually use oil after ive been rodding the **** out of it.

I got it home from the college and is now parked till i sort out this and other issues on it.
