Has anybody used this timing set on lt1 motor. this is a double roller, is there clearance using factory timing cover, will be running electric waterpump and would like 9 keyway adjustment for degreeing cam in.. tried to locate rollmaster cs1090 but doesnt seem available anywhere.. please, help needed.. is cloyes 9-3157 sufficient for degreeing cam in, could be my other option.

What year is your car? Be aware that double-roller chains won't work on 1996+ vehicles with a crank sensor. [Edit] For other potential readers, you also need a 1995+ Optispark/timing cover arrangement + EWP.

Otherwise, you will have to do some clearancing on the back-side of the timing cover, along the path that the chain follows. It's quick work with an angle grinder. Just take a little off at a time and keep checking clearances.

I've never used the 3545, but I've used the 3145 for the better part of a decade. It has the same center height, so I assume either will work. The 3545 just has more keyways.

Unless they really screwed something up in the grinding process, odds are your camshaft will be very close to the cam card. Most LT1 cams will also have about 4º advance already ground in. I just swapped from an SR to a HR cam, and the new cam was 1.25º retarded of ICL -- I left it "as is" instead of using an offset key (my 3145 doesn't offer enough adjustability to be of use).
