manfiold removal issue

Default manfiold removal issue

so i stated to take off manifolds to put headers on today and the driver side came off pretty easy. the passenger side i have one more bolt and its up by front of car. its reality tight. cant get air ratchet or socket on. im gonna try rachet wrench. this is sent from phone. ls1tech app any suggestions with passenger side manifold removal? do i need to take off starter? thanks

I usually use a ratchet wrench as well for that bolt. Also try a 1/4in ratchet with an extension. I was able to just squeeze to it like that as well.

are you talking about the one right behind the alternator?

if so a 1/4 racket and swivel and exstension

yeah got it. had to remove alternator. used 1/4" ratchet and extension. thanks fellas.

suggestions to get the headers and gaskets in easily? ill be doing that tomorrow.

Take one of the bolts, slide it through one of the easy holes to get started by hand, slide the gasket on the bolt so it holds it together, and start the bolt. Once you have one started, its easier to pivot the header and gasket together to start a 2nd bolt to really get it lined up. Get all bolts started first then tighten them down so you know all bolts are in straight and lined up.

For my headers, which are BBK shorties, I have to take the long bolt out of my passenger side motor mount to rock the engine one way to actually get the header in place, then rock it the other way to get the other side in place. Not sure about what headers you have if you have to do the same thing or not.
