Clutch fork issue.

Default Clutch fork issue.

I have a 97 Formula T-56. GM-847 stock heads stock bottom end 4:10's, pacesetter longtubes, moroso intake, F1 racing clutch and self tune. I ruined the retainer that the bolt goes into to hold the clutch fork down. Called GM they have the clutch fork for 104$ but no bolt. My question is were can i find one that works. Is it just my retainer thats messing me up? If so can I just buy an oem clutch fork and use my old bolt or what?

I bought a OEM fork & bolt @ The Gear Box Transmissions (do a search for web address)

not sure if you can just buy the bolt that holds fork on by itself but worth a check

1386-596-004 is Tremac part # for fork & bolt

The retainer is part of the fork, so you would need a new fork if it is broken. When you take the tranny out to get at the fork to remove it, you'll find if the bolt is reusable or not. If the bolt looks good, then there you go. If not then I'm sure a little research will find you the bolt dimensions, then you just go to a hardware store and pick one up..

I really appreciate it guys. I hope i get this thing going soon cant wait to drive it. So the fork when its botled down to the tranny and its snapped up in place should not have a lot of play in it correct?

Just to let you guys know i got the new clutch fork, bolt and pivet ball. with it all in it seems a little more stable. I will let you know when I actually get the car put together how it goes. thanks
