Default Running

Finally got the new engine running and broke in today. Here is a video right after the 30 minute break-in. Will post video of initial startup later.

Looks and sounds great! Always wondered what those hotrod valve covers would look on an lt1... any underhood pics with them on?

Sounds great and looks amazing! What ET goal are you going for? I thought you said before the other engine went that you didn't want to have to put a bar in this car? Keep up the great work!

Yeah, I didn't want to put the bar in but... I don't know what to expect for times, as long as it's not slower than my old SI setup. Just from the short break-in run doesn't feel like it will be slower. I'd be happy with low to mid 11's.

How did you get the hooker headers collectors up so high? Mine on a stock ride height are almost scraping the ground...

I don't know, I just installed them. The cutout is the lowest point of the exhaust.

Mine are way lower. I have stock springs and I'm too scared to lower it!

I went one time to log some data for WOT tuning. Not a good day, three runs. The posi gave out first run resulting in 1.9 60ft times, trans was slipping in 3rd, DA was high, and was pulling 3-4 degrees of timing because injectors are too small. Ran a best of 11.6 @118. I think after I get all bugs worked out should be a real low 11 maybe a 10.9 in perfect conditions @ around 121. Just put a new Eaton posi in and going to work on some 60ft times since trans is done on top end one more time before season ends so I can hit hard next year.

^^^ wow I would be happy with just the 11.6 what size injectors are you running? I wonder if I should have went bigger Im running 36lb ford injectors. Im curious cause we have very similar setups with the exact same cam. But 11.6 would be just quicker than what I was shooting for.
