Advice Needed.
Advice Needed. So here is the situation im facing. Late last year I bought my 94 m6 z for $1,100. The car came with all the mods in my sig, but wasnt running. It needed a opti,plugs,wires,waterpump. That was all done and then some to the tune of $800.
At this point I have $1,900 into this car, but it needs a bit of body work and a paint job. I have taken it a few places for estimates and I just cant justify $2,500-$3,000 for what needs to be done to make it CLEAN looking. Not to mention, there is a bit of rust on the undercarriage, especially under the rear seat foot rest areas. The metal is pretty much gone.
Onto the point..
I have a complete, good running, car with near spotless interior.
Would it be worth spending the coin I mentioned getting it patched up and painted, and dealing with rust issues, or... Would I be better off finding a Roller thats in really good shape on the outside with gutted interior and just swap pretty much my entire car over?
I found a Black 95 z roller locally with clean paint and no interior for $600 but there are a few issues with it that I dont want to deal with ie: lost key so I would need to replace the steering column.. and a few other things.
What thinks you guys?

Roller....or make friends with a body shop guy and learn how to do it yourself or get a good deal on it from the shop...I got my whole car painted for less than $1000 by getting a "back door" price on labor and doing most the body prep work myself with a buddy to help. Otherwise it was going to be 3-4K full retail
Find a roller V6 car and swap parts. Then you can insure it as a V6 and save on insurance too. If you look hard enough and take your time you can pick up a non-running V6 camaro or firebird for probably around $500. That Z isnt a bad idea though, just use your steering column. Make sure it isnt stolen though, missing a key and drivetrain raises a few eyebrows that it may have been stolen and stripped.
