The head of my crank bolt sheared off when my harmonic balancer decided to explode (stock), so I decided to drill and extract it. Well, I should have purchased a higher grade extractor because now I'm stuck with a broken extractor inside the snout of the crank along with the remainder of the bolt. I'm really hoping I don't have to tear the motor apart and have a machine shop extract it. Should I try to drill around the extractor and hopefully then remove that?

Had that happen on my blazer I used a center punch to break up the hardened ez out Get the good square lookin ones **** those twisty ones Dont drill around it youll end up ****** the threads up ITS A BITCH but be patient & youll get it After the broken ones out drill it to the biggest square extractor The reverse drill bit kit ones work good too
