I'm about to start my build within the next couple weeks including the le2 package. already have CAI and full exhaust. here are the parts i have researched and came up with that i would need, if you see im missing something or my price is off let me know!
le2 =1600
roller rockers=150
push rods= 100
rocker studs = 50
timing cover gasket =10
head gaskets= 100
intake gasket=35
threadlock/cam lube/ oil /rtv = 50
timing gears and chain= 100
valve cover gaskets= 30
water pump gaskets = 5
lifters 100
tune = 400
all of these prices are approximate but let me know if i'm much off.
also if i'm missing something let me know.
any similar builds with le2 package dynoed?

You don't want to run a $150 roller rocker.
Get the Felpro "conversion gasket set" it includes a lot of what you need including the oilpan gasket you left out.
You do not need cam lube.
You are very unlikely to need valvecover gaskets or lifters.
Far as $400 tune my junk is mailorder tuned.
When you figure out where to spend money appropriately you can buy better parts.

thanks guys big time help. now for a couple dumb questions. on the rockers and guideplates i assume that by that your talking about the peice that keeps the rockers in alignment correct? so why wouldn't i just run self aligning ones?
and 96mgr any suggestion on a cheap rocker that would work?
and on the gasket kit, i like that but would i benefit from a thinner head gasket meaning higher compression?

Any "cheap rocker" will "work", but do you really want that cheap rocker exploding and sending dozens of small needle bearings throughout your brand new engine? Short version - don't skimp on rockers. Comp Ultra Pro Mags or equivalent.
SA rockers don't belong on higher RPM motors. Especially since their NSA counterparts are far more stable.
A thinner head gasket would bump the compression - certainly not a bad thing.
Also itemizing your build like that gives you an unrealistic expectation of total cost. In other words expect it to cost 1.5x what you think it will once the incidentals are factored in.

like ramair said sa rocker are unsafe past 6k rpms. spend the extra $ on guide plates, good rockers, and 7/16 rocker studs. if your running stock short block run .026 victor head gaskets.

do you think I was recommending the Felpro head gaskets? I wasn't.
From what I am reading I have to say the best thing you can buy yourself now is more time and delay this project.

Valvetrain is the last thing you want to cheap out on, You don't want your investment grenading everywhere and costing you more money. Just slowly gather the parts as you can afford them and when you have everything dig in. That way your car isn't down while you're waiting for parts or money and you can just get it all done.
