You can use aluminum on the return side but steel or stainless on the high side with ptfe hose. Regular ss an braid and aluminum fittings do not have a high enough pressure rating, seen people get away with it but personally I would not take the chance.

If I had to do it I would get metric o ring flare to an/ jic adapters for the rack. Then use the ss re usable hose end and ptfe hose on the high side and regular an stuff for the return.

http://www.ebay.com/itm/120935759914...84.m1497.l2649

this is the pump and bracket and pulley i bought. and im running the stock
resivor.

the fitting i came up with are

10 an female to 5/8" barb ( from the inlet pump to the resivor. low presure). im using the same size rubber hose as stock

6 an female to 3/8 barb ( from the rack out put to the resivor. low presure). im using the asme size rubber hose as stock

then two o ring flare fittings to a 6 an male. ( in and out of the rack).

then im getting a custom made 6 an hose with crimped fitting. ( from the pump the the rack. high presure).

that is all of the parts to do it but i need to find out what size the rack and pinion are inlets and outlets are. if i dont get a respond by tomorrow i will figure it out and post it up.

the only thing is you have to modify the bracket to work. not to hard for me to do. i just started on it today and i will post pics as i get more done

stock resivor.
ps bracket $25 ( ebay)
rack fitting and hose fitting for stock lines $48 ( jegs) 14mm and 16mm
crank pulley and type 2 pump with pulley $184 ( summit)
v belt $10 ( orielly)

To be honest I would have ditched PS way before considering this. Especially as I'm sure this isn't your DD and is probably driven to the track on a trailer. + in your sig it says that it is a fully gutted car, why not just loose another couple pounds of stuff you really don't need and save that cash and labor for something else. Maybe I'm missing something, or maybe you just really like that PS..

my car is a steet car. i had a flamming river rack on it for about two weeks and i hate the manual on the street. my front end comes up and down and the steering gets soft then hard when it does.

and i sold the manual rack and had some extra money on top of the conversion for more parts
