Mid tubes?

Mid tubes? What are some good mid tubes that will fit with the cats (Cali) on my 97 LT1 with magna flow exhaust it's the stock exhaust with just magnaflow muffler

With the drivers side cat having to stay in the stock place all brands of mid tubes are going to be jammed up on that side. It's a bad situation. I'd suggest looking at what all the manufacturers offer for your car and picking the ones you like best. They're not much better than stock manifolds.

Lol at all the mid-tube header haters....just get some pacesetter mid-tubes I have them on my 383.....they are 50 state legal. They have plenty of clearance for lowered cars and the ceramic coating still looks brand new on mine 3 years later. They sound good as well; a BIG improvement over stock manifolds sound and power

With dual cats, the driver side pipe comes up too high in the engine compartment to get anything other than shorties, I would imagine; it just doesn't leave enough room. Probably your best option is to save up and do LT's and custom Y pipe, having some aftermarket cats welded in. IMHO

For real the only way around it out here is shorty headers or go lt's and find a smog guy who will overlook the cats being moved. You can still get lt's with emissions hook ups. Otherwise, stay stock.

I don't live in CA so I don't know how strict shops are. You'll have to find the catalytic converter law, but I think it says that the factory cat has to be located within 3 inches of where the factory put it.
Is it possible that you could install mids and modify the factory y-pipe within the 3-inch limit and at least gain a little power and still pass in CA?
