Default Optispark Problems

Hey guys i have a 94 trans am lt1 and i was changing out my plug wires and now i dont have spark going to my distributor. Im thinking it could be my cap. Help would be appreciated.

Well it could be a few things. Did it run fine before? Did you accidentally unplug the Opti harness? Wires get switched around?
Check all the easy stuff first. The Opti shouldn't just stop working all of the sudden. It would have shown prior signs of failure.

check ur coil to make sure ur getting spark to it....if not then ur iginition module is bad..

Hey transamguy, welcomne to LS1tech!

SEARCH will be your best friend.

As you were just working on the car, it's very likely that you disturbed something.

Here's some actual help. Lets start with confirming spark from the coil:

Unplug the spark plug wire going into the distributor from the coil leaving it connected to the coil. Plug in a spare spark plug into it. Lay the plug onto some metal thing and have a friend crank the engine. Is there spark in or around this spark plug?

I have spark in the coil. The wires are all where they are suppose to be. I did splash a little bit of anitfreeze on it but not enough to completely soak it. Ive checked everything. My last guess would be its the opti but could i get away with just getting a cap and rotor?
