97 Z28 headers My stock exhaust manifolds are leaking a little and was thinking of installing some pacesetter headers, can anyone give me some tips or pointers, and how long does it usually take? Thanks
Take your time when you do it, atleast 2 days in the garage. Your going to need 02 extensions and should do poly motor mounts at the same time. Then decide if you want to keep egr and air or get the race style ones.
Get ones without emissions fittings, and when you get your mail order tune, have them delete, air, EGR, and rear O2 sensors. Just cleans up the engine bay, and you will not pass emissions with long tubes anyways. Doesnt take 2 days normally, but yes it is a huge bitch. Put the car up as high as you can, ramps under the rear tires, and jack stands under the front. Remove your spark plugs! And be careful of the coolant temp sensor on the driver side of the block. When you start it up, and you see smoke coming from under the hood, DONT PANIC! Thats just the greasy fingerprints burning off of the headers.
