1995 z28 help please

hi i have a 95z28, i was driving the other day and when i put it in 2nd (its an auto) it backfired and jerked real hard twice then maybe a 1/4 mile down the road it backfired again and died and wont start back up. i think it could be the distributor but im not sure could anyone give me any ideas as to what the problem could be?

Check for spark
Check the ICM
Possibly the opti but? ??????

the icm is fine tht was replaced a few months ago but ill check tht other stuff when i get the chance
