Well my noisey valvetrain issue is fixed and not the lifters fault this time. Narrowed the intermittent tick to the #5 spring area so we pulled the springs had them checked and they were fine but noticed that the guideplates were riding and the pushrods were seeing some wear more then others. Grinded it down and the ticking is now gone! Dont know if that was the issue or not but im just happier its not worse! Put 600+ on it this weekend and havent had an issue yet! Keep you posted on how these new LS7s hold up.

What guideplates?
I see you have AFRs were they AFR spec guideplates, do those heads have non-stock valvespacing?
The LT1 stock spacing is a little different than older sbc engines which leads to people using a lot of poorly fitting guideplates.

I got the original Delphi lifters from Skip White. These are GM's NOS (new old stock).
I dont run shaft mount rockers, is it also a myth that less pre load is better for aggressive cams?

I've got some for sale. The newer style/weaker retainer that were used for a GM847, turned to 6500rpm with a spring in the 400lb range. They're in great condition. You want them? The only catch is to stay away from bert bowerz HR camshafts.
