Default Optispark Brand Indentification
Is there an easy way to determine what brand of Optispark you are buying by just looking at it? If you have any photos front and back of your Opti's can you post them and say what brand they are?

I have been told the order of preference is:

AC Delco
Delphi
MSD
Taiwan Made
Chinese Made

Delco/Delphi Usually booger colored with a visible maze on the cap.

Vatozone/otherpartstoreknockoffs peanutbutter color no visible maze.

MSD, red, overpriced crap with nonsensical timing adjustments.

Black, usually the worst possible outcome, either Accell, or marginally better it's a chinese knockoff.

Are you concerned because you are buying it used?

If so, let me just say, Optis are one thing I would not buy used, unless you have intentions of having it rebuilt.

This is just more informational to know what I am buying new to make sure of what I am getting.

I have no idea what Booger Color looks like though, lol!

take your index finger, stick it straight out and insert into either nostril... feel/ scrape around to the septum. Now, pull out the delicious prize that now awaits you.


Think about it, boogers... kind of brown/tan/green... one of those colors that are pretty damn close to it.

Very true, but remember if they want it to look like it is something its not... it will. Including the colors and logos on the opti you buy.

Your best bet... just buy from a reputable dealer.
