Default Bolt on Only LT1 breaks into the 11's!

I had a great time down in Maryland with Mike V, Joel, Ricky Green, Larry, Pat, Mike, Justin Bobby, Big V, my GF, Bufmat, and everyone else. The weather was nice about 50 degrees all day DA was around -680' to 0' all day. First pass off the railer i went 12.08 @ 110mph w/ 1.64 60ft. I was blown away with how fast it went i was hoping for a 12.2x lol After a number of 12.0x passes and a whooping on bufmat lol. The very last pass of the day for the entire track I went this:

Video:

Video of race agianst Bufmat:

http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?v=10151139451009716

DA for this pass was -680' I have a video but having trouble putting it up. This was done with Bone Stock Suspension, Bone stock gears, stock rockers, stock water pump, Power Steering, ABS, and a mail order tune. at apprx 3150lbs raceweight.

I have QA1's for all 4 corners, 4.10's, SFC's, LCA's w/relo brackets, PHB, lightwright carpet, Chromoly steering column with quick disconnect steering wheel. All ready to go in for next season.

Good luck Street Stock competitors hehe!

I also raced Bufmat and I have a video of that race as well that I will load up. 12.15 to 12.39 me I told him to keep his $200 and use it for gas money to make it to the shootout next year

Congrats Tony on your 11 second pass, wish I got to see it in person, or out my driver window/windshield. I still cant believe how hard your car pulls from the 330-1/8th mile. I was thinking "WTF HOW AM I NOT GAINING?!?!?!" and pushing my skinny petal as hard as I could to the floorboard.

AND IN MY DEFENSE: I missed 4th gear when we raced, so I might have gotten a 12.29...and still lost...

I keep watching that video over and over again and shake my head every time. It goes to show you should practice before going to the track if you havnt driven the car, or stick shift in that matter, for a year.

You cant see it really in the video, but where you hear me shift to 2nd, tony pulls a half a car length on me because I didnt powershift, and I think I got scared when it hooked so hard and may have lifted slightly (you see my nose dive right after my launch), so Im now at his door, then to the 1/8th he pulls another 1/2 car on me with pure power, then the "putt putt poof" sound and the puff of smoke when I shift to 4th is me hitting the gate between 2nd and 4th on my 4th gear shift, but he was already a car in front of me at that point.

His car is SO STRONG to the 1/8th, 89 mph at the 1/8th in an auto LT1 boltons only is unheard of. Then to still trap 111 at the 1/4, thats what M6 cars normally trap, what I normally trap.

It was great meeting you Tony, and your girlfriend too, I kick myself for not getting there earlier so we could have made more passes against eachother.

*edit* you need to change your title from "12 second club" to "11 second club*

Great work to both of you guys. I was really impressed with both cars, especially the MPH. 4.33 gears!!?? How the hell do you make it through the traps lol.

Tony - I would avoid the 4.11s in an auto. Honestly, you will gain more going to an SS4000.

4.33 gears and a 26" tire I calculated in 4th gear only 106 and 6100rpm by the stock tach through the traps so I had to go to a 27" tire, now Im at 6100 at 111 through the traps. Shon Herron used 4.33s also, but spun to 6300 through the traps. Bitch is SCREAMING though, and Im in 4th before I hit the 1/8th, and Im doing near 140mph by the speedo when I cross the line. If I do any more mods I have to back to 4.11s. Its amazing how much HP that 9" eats though, I was trapping 111 with the 10 bolt before the ewp, rockers, or LS1 lid. The 9" eats all of that hp.

Great seeing you again as well! Yup we most certainly did! I am now 1 of 5 people to ever go 11's in a bolt on only LT1 feels good for sure. Especially when i wasn't expecting to get it until next year!

True but I am not sure how much a SS4000 would help to be honest.

What converter are you running now?
The difference between an SS3600 and an SS4000 is huge; no resemblance whatsoever IMO. You may not have enough rpm with the stock cam to use the 4000.
I tried my 8" 4200 once in my bolt-on setup and it absolutely killed it (and except for the non-lockup, this 4200 drives better on the street than a SS4000 does; I know it sounds crazy, but the smaller diameter really does help with the higher stalls).
60's were no better than with the SS3600, and it never coupled up top. Mph was down by 2.
I ran a "bolt-ons" best of 1.57 at 3925 lbs with the SS3600.
You'll be chasing a 1.49 with YOUR car

Great advice Pat. I think your right. He will be better off with the 3600 and more suspension tweeks.

I'll stick with the SS3600 for awhile. If and when it comes down to the littlest things I will go with a race converter and a TH350.

2.73s or 3.23s?

Dang, how did you get your weight so low?

I was happy with a 13.024@103.33 in my old bolt-on 97 WS6 at 2700DA in the midst of summer heat.

3.23's and just the usual weight reduction. !swaybar, !fogs, !passenger seat, !front bumper support, !A/C, !stripped trunk, !visors, !rear speaker, !wipers (just for this run), Big and littles, Kirkey Seat, LS1 driveshaft. I am sure there are a few other things im missing.
