Ignition Switch Problem
Hello i have the 1995 trans am lt1
one day i turn the key and no dash lights. i know that it is not VATS because i have the by pass done.
So far i have replaced the ignition lock, but when i was in there i didnt know exactly where the ignition switch is. maybe someone has some pictures or diagrams on how to replace the electrical parts of the ignition switch.
right now i have hot wired the car just under the dash and it works perfectly with my manual switches. so im hoping the problem is the ignition switch
thank you

You need to do two things to get rid of VATS:
Program out VATS from the PCM or have a mail order tuner do it AND:
Take the yellow and black wire going from the theft deterrent relay, pin A1, circuit 625 and hook it straight to ground. I did this on both my cars.

I've seen people selling VATS bypass modules on EBay and also selling chipped keys there as wel.
