NEwbie timing chain ??? Well i need to change my timing chain gasket and i was wondering if i could put a cc503 when i change my gasket out since im down there. or can a bigger cam go in with a stock top in. (my set up 3.90gears, rebuilt 4l60e with upgardes & 3200 stall.)
The cover gasket wouldn't exactly be a common leak. If it is one of the three seals in it then the cover doesn't need to come off.
You will need reprogramming and long term use of stock rockers and pushrods has resulted in damage for a few guys out there. The extra stress of aftermarket cam and springs can make the pushrod wear through the rocker.
If you want to do a cam and are prepared to support it in a reasonable amount of time then you can consider it. If you think this is an easy time and are doing it because you have the front cover off then I would pass for now.
