Default Best place to buy short block???

Hey guys it's me agian...lol. Where is the best place to buy a short block? I want to do a 396 LT1 Stroker motor, but I don't want to be screwed over agian by a place like Nu-Tek. Is there any reputable companys left that I can trust to build me a short block? I know Agostino racing sucks now and I just heard some bad things about Golen Engine service so as of right now I'm in the dark. I heard from Chris Gelineau at Automotive Performance, has anybody had any experience with this company? Any information on a decent place to purchase a 396 short block would be greatly appreciated, thanks for all your help guys.

Wow you got screwed over by Nu-Tek too? That's twice I've heard that in two days. Thank God I just bought components from them. Customer service is ****. More Performance seems to be reputable. I haven't bought from them but I haven't heard bad things either. I've considered them for future projects. They had the big 427 LS1 buildup that was in some magazine a while back. Here's a link if you wanna check them out.

Sounds expensive but if you factor in all the machine work and assembly, it seems worth it to me because you save some serious time! I wasted my time on putting together one and had about 3 extra months work (waiting on the machine shop) and came out about the same $$$$ wise.

I've got a motor being worked on right now at AP Engineering. I highly recommend them. Great people, really good prices too, and some pretty darn good experience in the shop too.
