Default IAC valve question!! Quick!

Ok I have a vacuum leak somewhere but I haven't been able to find it yet... But the previous owner told me he replaced the IAC valve.. But I went ahead and was gonna check that first.. When I unscrewed the two star bolts holding it in and unplugged the sensor does the outside piece that screws onto the tb separate from the piece that is actually going into the side of the throttle body? The IAC was stuck inside the throttle body and I couldn't pull it out with my fingers.. There was like a tab looking piece on the end of it that sticks out and goes inside the piece that screws onto the outside of the throttle body... Is this right or did this guy put the wrong IAC valve in it?

Nevermind it was the TPS... Do you have to take the Throttle body off to be able to get to the IAC valve or just the elbow and the cold air intake?

Ok I took a pic of the plug that goes into the IAC valve... It is cracked and looks like the little clamp is broken off that snaps and holds it in place. Could this be causing the slightly high idle? It idles at 1,000... But if I'm rolling and coming to a stop it'll idle at 1,500 and then when I finally come to a complete stop it'll drop down to 1,000 and stay there. I don't see where the end of the wire goes that plugs into the sensor so how do you replace that wire? Here is a pic

You need to find the source of the vacuum leak. That's exactly the way my car idled, before I started plugging the multiple vacuum leaks I had.

Your first post should have stopped after "Ok I have a vacuum leak somewhere."

With a vacuum leak you can't expect the car to run properly. I doubt you have problems with the IAC.

With the car idling, spray carb cleaner around the various "suspect" components and vac lines; when your idle speed rises, you've found the area of your vac leak.
