Default Finally made it to the track

Well I finally got to the track before the holidays. I made my goal with a best run of

1.87 60ft
7.667 at 91.3 mph 1/8
11.843 at 116.2 mph 1/4

Launching at 1600 rpms produced the best 60 ft without blowing the tires off and bringing on the nitrous at 3200 rpms kept the tires from spinning threw the 1/8. Shift points are set at 6100 into 2nd and 5950 into 3rd. Seems to pull the best at those rpms but after ******* with governor weights for over a week thats where it will be shifting for now. I am pleased considering its a 3.07 geared on street tires, cam only on a 125 shot.

I did encounter one problem that I think is battery related, maybe someone here has dealt with it.

At about 5500 rpms and above the battery light comes on like it has a charging issue. On my way home it stalled at a light when the fans came on. It started right up and had no more issues. Today after being on vacation for 10 days, I go to start it and its dead. Jumped it and tested the alternator 14.7 volts. Checked the battery 12.9 volt but tag says 2006 so its almost 7 years old. Wondering if the Amp load is the issue when the fans kick on. I let it idle until the fans kicked on today and it stalled again. Started it backup and let it cycle the fans for 30 mins and no more issues. Battery weak and old or weak alternator? I changed out the alt less than a year ago with a 140 amp for another issue.

What tires? Alot left in the 60'. A bigger stall would wake that car up a lot!

Deff. Some left in that 60 ft.

As for the battery issue you got your life out of it. 4yrs is average. Replace it. Also check what the alt. Is putting out with loads on. Hi beams, AC, etc.

Nice, that car has so much left in the 60ft. My 93 when it was just bolt ons with a Vigi 3200, 3.23s on some old Nitto NT555 would cut 1.7s. So I imagine with a sticky tire has some left in it, on street tires same set up I was in the 1.8s if the track was hooking. Would like to see your car on a Mickey Thompson ET street.

Stalling problem got worse over the last few days. I changed the battery and ICM, it seems to have fixed my issues.

I would love to put some real stickies out back and try a full nitrous pass off the converter at about 2600 rpms but the Dana 36 scares me. I picked up a Dana 44 a few months back with 3.73's ready to go, all I need is some time to do the swap. I slapped some BFG G-forces in place of the Goodyear run flats hoping they would hook better out of the hole and they seem too but the 125 shot overpowers them if I squeeze it prior to about 100ft out. I'll post up the video as soon as my buddy puts it on youtube.

All in all, I am happy with the results but I would like to get a set of LE or AI heads this summer. Add the 3.73's, some real meats and the 150 jets I'm hoping for low 11's.
