crank position sensor loose?

Hello everyone,

Im installing a new ATI Super Damper. I noticed ths crankshaft sensor seems loose. I can wiggle it side to side on the crank key. Is that normal? Does the crank hub hold it in place? This motor has about 20k on it since i rebuilt it. I cant remember if that was loose when i put it together or not.

If you're talking about the reluctor ring, which I think you are, yes the hub keeps it tight against the crank sprocket.

If you are using an ARP crank bolt, check the length because it is probably too long and has bottomed out in your crank (leaving the crank reluctor loose and possibly damaging the crank bolt threads).
