How are the Lt1's?
Stronger springs - 0 unless valve float is present
Lifters - 0 unless lifters are collapsed

also its tons cheaper, also considered dropping the lt1 in another car, but any car with decent looks is already comprosmising my wallet, oh well.
the lt1 sound better no question much deeper, the 5.0s great also.
1)The first year of the vented opti-spark (for the f-body) - very important because the optispark is very picky about any moisture, and the vented is much better. I'll eventually switch my car to vented when I do some engine mods
2)The car is still OBDI. OBDI is much easier to work with as opposed to OBDII found in the '96+ cars. The connector under the dash may be OBDII style, but the computer is still OBDI.
So if you can find a good, clean '95 - go for it!
