Anyone consider running s/s 82-92 shorty headers on a LT1 4th gen? I know Lt1 d-ports to standard oval headers have been done before with some tweaks. But a s/s pair of shorty 92 camaro headers are dirt cheap to run for while and enjoy while I save for long tubes and cam swap.

Any ideas?

 

You could get used shorties if you really wanted for cheap i'm sure. I just did longtubes and ORY for under 400 bucks brand new.

 

The problem is never non-LT1 headers bolting up, it's the clearance to the k-member and accessories in the engine bay. There simply isn't enough. Save yourself the trouble and just wait until you can afford to do LT1-specific long tubes.
