Default battery hold down options

So when I took my car to the track for the first time they made me open the hood and checked the battery... It's never been bolted down since I've had the car, the bolt just spins. Is there another option, like making a bracket and bolting it to the core support to avoid replacing the coolant tank/battery tray?

I'll have to go pull it all the way out and take a look and see what it has done. But I know they won't let me run at the track again till I manage to fix it.

not really looking to spend the money to mount it back there honestly, or add the weight of the cables. I'm going to see if I can fab up a piece to sit over the top of the battery and bolt it to the core support. Won't be perfect but will work for the time being.

The reason I don't want it in the back either is I run my HID's off the battery as well with a harness. But thanks for the suggestion.

I was just thinking out loud. It's a PITA to move it back there, plus then you have to run a master disconnect. On street car, I personally don't want the switch out there for just anyone to screw with.

Yeah I would agree, would be pissed sitting in traffic and someone decided it would be funny to mess with it... It's all good though, I'll figure something out for it this week or so. I'm still working the little things out after getting it running again anyhow.

really wasnt expensive at all to move it to the rear, and hardly any more weight. I didnt install a master disconnect, but thats because i dont take it to the strip

Yeah I mean I don't take mine that often, but I do want to take it to an SCCA auto X event and maybe an open track day too at some point. So having that would be required. I'm just thinking a simple bracket bolted to the radiator support will do fine, can't imagine they would complain about it at the track.

I guess you could hide the disconnect behind the berger panel and take off the berger panel before a race since it doesnt do anything to help. all you have to do before the race is take off the tails and berger panel and reinstall the tails after to race. maybe that is just dumb but idk. and the battery in the rear helps with weight distribution.

I'll have to look into kits to mount it back there, any suggestions on who makes a good one? I've got no idea when it comes to those.

Thanks for the link I'll be grabbing one of those soon!
